Juanita Elizabeth Miskell, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Morley, Mo., to Alfred and Elva Graves Bryant.

She and Robert Miskell Jr. were married June 3, 1944 in Arkansas. He died Jan. 24, 2001.

Mrs. Miskell graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in May 1948 and taught school in Commerce, Portageville, Cape Girardeau, Sikeston and Scott City, all in Missouri, retiring in September of 1977.

She was a member of Missouri Teacher Association and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include sons John R. (Cathy) Miskell, of Cape Girardeau, and David L. (Cindy) Miskell, of Munford, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister.

Private services will held at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or American Diabetes Association.
