This Alexander Coppage was hanged from a mulberry tree in 1862 during the Civil War, by a "mob" of Confederates & sympathizers, due to being suspected of being a Unionist. Believed to be buried at the old Coppage Graveyard in Casey County, Kentucky, which is located in the Jacktown area, on the site of old Vernon Lynn Farm, along with several other Coppage family marked and unmarked gravesites; per info found online under Casey County cemeteries indexed by volunteers.
