Born Dec. 4, 1941, in Batesville, he was a son of James R. Simmermon Sr. and the late Marie Simmermon.
Other survivors include a son, Eric Simmermon of Brookland (Craighead County); a daughter, Sonia Simmermon of Sidney (Sharp County); two brothers, Prior Simmermon of Greenbrier and Benny Simmermon of Conway; a sister, Cathy Heath of Conway; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday at Moorefield United Methodist Church in Batesville with Mary Catherine McSpadden officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home ofBatesville.
Pallbearers were Randy Frazier, Hewey Craig, Mike Rossi, Glenn Baker, Keith Hill, Ronnie Thomas and Marcus Bowers.
