Wilson, Rubye Nix, 77, of Tucson, died September 12, 1992 in Los Angeles, CA. Survived by daughter, Cindy Wilson Ales (Larry) of Camarillo, CA; sons Ron Barris (Erriketi) of Winter Haven, FL and Les Barris (Linda) of New Orleans, LA; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson received her BFA and MFA at the University of Arizona. She was a renowned artist who worked in many media. She created a new art form called solar sculpture. Her art hangs in many notable buildings throughout the country including the Governor's Offices in Phoenix, the State Capitol in Little Rock, AR and the offices of Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, in addition to many corporate offices. She was Mortar Board Woman of the Year in 1978 at the University of Arizona. Funeral services, 2:00 p.m., Saturday at St. Philip's in the Hills, 4440 N. Campbell. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at Palms Mortuary, 5225 E Speedway.
