Earl E. Pixley (88) of rural West Salem, IL passed away at 4:55 AM, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Lawrenceville Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL.

He was born May 19, 1921 in Wabash County, IL. His parents were Walter Mack and Cora (Schnitz) Pixley. He married Mary Ermagene Myers September 11, 1971.

He was a farmer and also worked for Snap-On in Mt. Carmel, IL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII and was in the 496 AAA Gun BN, C Battery. He was also a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ, Lifetime member of VFW at Albion and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ermagene of West Salem, 1 daughter; Cindy (Dean) Scherest of Bridgeport, IL, 2 sons; Robert Pixley of Lancaster, IL, Wayne (Pauletta) Pixley of Olney, IL, step-children; Ernie (Bea Ann) Ellis of Texas, John (Cris) Ellis of Arizona, Phil (Debbie) Ellis of California, Brian (Janice) Ellis of Olney, IL, Shirley Myers of Grayville, IL, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 sister; Ruth Pixley of Lancaster, IL and 1 brother; Loren (Carol) Pixley of Olney, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons; Carl (Sam) Pixley, Art Pixley and Kathy; stepson; Ed Ellis, 1 brother; Howard Pixley, sisters; Mary Ellen Pixley, May Pixley and Vera Longbons.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, November 13, 2009 at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, IL. Burial will be in Moravian cemetery will full military rites.
