Miles Stafford Abbott, 55, Flint, Mich, native Nodaway countian, died Saturday in a VA hospital at Saginaw, Mich.

Born Dec 17, 1923, at Elmo, he was the son of Miles Warren and Nellie Lee Stafford Abbott, now of Clearmont. A factory worker, he was an Army veteran of World War II, having served on Ascension Island and in South America.

Besides his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Monica Abbott; two sons, Lawrence and Jeff Abbott, all of the home; three sisters, Elsie Stewart, Clearmont; Joy Reynolds, Kansas City; and Ella Guenther, Flint; and one brother, David Abbott, Flint. A son, David Abbott, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Barr-Merrick Funeral Chapel, Burlington Jct. Burial will be in High Prairie Cemetery, Elmo. Alvin Reed will officiate. Family visitation will be from 7:30 to 9 pm Wednesday at the chapel. MARYVILLE FORUM, Maryville, Missouri, Jul 3, 1979
