Ms. Smith was born in Guin, Ala., to the late Grover and Rosa Beasley Smith. She was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Kelly of Detroit, Ala., and Ruth Nix of Guin, Ala.
