She was the daughter of Jared and Artemisa (Tulane) Bates, natives of Alabama.
She was united in marriage June 25, 1874, with Mr. George C. Kelley. To them have been born three children—George Bates, Wilbur Edrald, and Irwin Olin.
George C. Kelley’s wife is buried here, as was Wilbur E. Kelley, his son, buried in Oak Hill in 1955. George was buried in Wilmington, NC where he died 8 Feb 1923 and was buried in Oakdale Cemetery 10 Feb 1923
