Daniel T. Chilton of Estero, FL died on March 26. He was born January 21, 1935 in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Thomas Hamilton and Cherridah McLemore Chilton. He leaves behind his wife Annette C. Chilton; his sons Bart H. Chilton of Shady Side, MD; D. Tanner Chilton Jr. of Greenville, NC; and a daughter Elizabeth M. Chilton of Grosse Pointe Park, MI. He also leaves five grandchildren and his brother Thomas M. Chilton of Boston, MA and six nephews and nieces. He had three stepchildren, Karen Salinas of Ellicott City, MD; Stephen Clark of Woodland Hills, CA; and Paula Butzi of Carnation, WA.

He graduated from Tower Hill School in Wilmington and received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA.

After graduation Mr. Chilton served in the U.S. Marines. He was self employed most of his working life, owning and running businesses in DE, PA and IN. He was very active in playing handball, golf, and tennis.

Private memorial services will be held in Florida and Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Silverside Church, 2800 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810, or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Dan chose to be cremated, his ashes cast over the Chesapeake in a private ceremony. A memorial to his life stands at Brandywine, where the remains of his parents were interred and those of his brother Tim came to rest a few months later.
