Jane C. File was born on April 15, 1832 in Rensselaer County, New York. She was united in marriage with Mr. Prosper Harvey Davison on September 2, 1854 in Brunswick, Rensselaer County, New York. Seven children were born to them - Addie, who died at age of 6 years; Franc D., wife of Harrison Kerrick, who resides near Lone Tree, Mo.; William S., of Clayton tp.; J. Morgan, of Kansas City, Mo.; Paul H., of Clayton tp.; Elsie J., wife of R. M. Livingston, of this city; and Bertha, at home.

In 1855 The Davisons came to Illinois, locating in Clayton township, in Woodford county, where they resided until 1887, when they moved to Eureka, Mr. Davison having been elected county treasurer in 1886. They lived there until 1889, when they moved to Metamora. After Mr. Davison's term of office expired, they returned to their farm in Clayton township, living there until the fall of 1902, when they came to Minonk, occupying the handsome property he had purchased from J. H. Golden. Mrs. Davison passed away on December 22, 1904
