Born at Star City, Mr. Burton was a retired farmer. In 1919, he was married at Mulberry to Esther Reene, who survives. He was a member of Stockwell United Methodist church, Anchor Lodge 693, F&AM, and Lauramie Township Farm Bureau. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in Russia.
Surviving with the wife are two sons, Wayne Burton of Lafayette and Robert Burton of Winamac; three brothers, Alfred Burton of Rt 4, Delphi, Winfield Burton of Marshallville, Ohio, and Wentworth Burton of Akron, Ohio, and six sisters, Mrs. Pearl Mennen of Linden, Mrs. Don Clawson, Mrs. Ben DeWitt and Mrs. Byron Edwards, all of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Edgar Milstead of Lake Worth, Florida, and Mrs. James Matin of Evansville.
