Fred B. Kummer

Fred B. Kummer, 85, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Monday, at the Anna M. Reiss Home following a lingering illness. He was born in Erfurt, Germany, on June 9, 1869, and came to America with his mother in 1884. After five years in Mondovi, Wis., he moved to Sheboygan in 1890 and have lived here since. He was married on April 18, 1894, to Miss Elizabeth Treick in Sheboygan.

For 12 years he was a foreman at the old Crocker Chair company, and he later spent 10 years as superintendent of the City Home. He was a machinist and draftsman for the Vollrath company for seven years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Irma) Roy of Chicago; two sons, Fred W. of Sheboygan, and Norman E. of Girard, Ohio; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His wife passed away on Feb. 4, 1921. He was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and three sisters.

Mr. Kummer was a charter member of the Benevolent Society of the Zion Reformed Church, Sheboygan, and was the last surviving charter member of that organization.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p, m., Wednesday, at the Nickel Funeral home. The Rev. Clarence Koehler, pastor of the Zion Reformed Church, will officiate, and burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 4 p. m., today, until the hour of services on Wednesday.

F. B. Kummer, who died Monday at the Anna M. Reiss Home, was married to Minnie Stock on May 5, 1923, in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death in 1944. Funeral services for Mr. Kummer were held today at Nickel's Funeral Home.
