(Lillian) Evelyn Benson, 91, of rural Clitherall,MN died Saturday, March 23, 2007, at the Battle Lake, Minnesota Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Feb. 12, 1916, by Clitherall Lake, rural Clitherall, the daughter of Oscar and Amanda (Bengtson) Benson. Her faternal grandparents were Jens Benson (1843 - 1926) Betsey Larson Benson (1843 - 1905)from Skane, Sweden.


When she was three years old her father purchased a farm on the Nidaros Prairie where she lived with her parents and brother until 1932.

They then purchased a different farm on the Nidaros Prairie.

Evelyn was a lifetime resident of Nidaros Township until 1992 when she moved into Fergus Falls MN.

She attended School District 53 where she graduated from the eighth grade.

Evelyn was a member of the Nidaros Lutheran Church and WELCA.

She was a charter member of the Nidaros Homemakers Club and a member of the Nidaros Birthday Club.

She enjoyed crafts, baking and cooking.

While on the farm she and her brother, George, worked together doing the chores in the barn.

Evelyn loved to raise geese, ducks and chickens. She sold eggs and cream which gave her a chance to know and visit with many people.

She is survived by friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Amanda Benson; and her brother, George Benson.

Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Vining
