Auburn - Tony J. Schulte, 73, Auburn, died April 1, at McVay Memorial Hospital, Lake City, following a five month illness.
His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburn, with the Rev. Jerome Koenig celebrating the requiem mass. Burial will be at Auburn. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Huffman Memorial Chapel, Lake City. Mr. Schulte was a member of the church.
Mr. Schulte was born May 7, 1890, at Breda, and was a life-long resicent of the Aubrun community. He was a son of Phillip and Magdalena Seipker Schulte. His marriage to Clara Clapper took place at Auburn on October 10, 1911. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife; five children, Mearle Schulte, Auburn; Leonard Schulte, Lake City; Ora Schulte, Auburn; Mrs. Marvin (Opal) Bean, Lohrville; and Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Duncan, Rockwell City; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ludy Schulte, Sac City; and one sister, Mrs.(Lottie) William Magner, Sac City. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Deceased siblings were Mary (Mrs. John Thelen), Helena (Mrs. John Gute), Joseph, George, Frank, and Phillip.
