Orval William Stafford
Orval William Stafford, son of Samuel D. and Rozella Stafford, was born February 27, 1899, in Liberty township, Republic county, Kansas, and passed away July 30, 1953, in Burbank, Cal, at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 3 days. He completed school at Milner school in Liberty township and later attended high school at Republic. He was converted and joined the Methodist church at Republic at the age of 17 years. He was a believer in old fashioned religion, and followed it all his life.
He was married to Hazel Aspegren on August 8, 1917, and to this union three (children were born, Verleen (sic) Barber of Denver, Colo., Dee of Burbank, Cal., and Dallas of Wichita.
He farmed around Republic and in 1935 moved with his family to Santa Ana, Cal, and later to Bur-bank where he was employed 10 years by Lockheed Aircraft. Surviving are his devoted wife, Hazel, of the home in Burbank; the three children and five grandchildren; three brothers Clarence of Haigler, Neb., Harold of Scandia and Clifford of Topeka; three sisters, Mrs. Maud Milner of Belleville. Mrs. May Bowersox of Scandia, Mrs. Belle Nelson of Republic. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Little Flowers, burial being in Forest Lawn cemetery,
Glendale, Cal.
