MILDRED LEISCH
Lincoln - Mildred Leisch, 88, of Lincoln, a retired sales clerk, died at 8:18 a.m. yesterday (June 22, 1989) at St. Clara's Manor Inc., Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery, rural Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Leisch was born Nov. 23, 1900, in Broadwell Township, Logan County, a daughter of George S. and Grace Everman Brown. She married Ralph H. Leisch on Nove. 23, 1924, in Lincoln. He died July 28, 1958.
Survivors include one son, David, Lincoln; one daughter, Linda Mecham, 708 E. Wood St., Bloomington; one sister, Thelma Hoaglin, Lincoln; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Mrs. Leisch had been employed at Central Illinois Light Co. and Feldman's Gift Shop and as a sales clerk for Landauers in Lincoln.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln, the Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Mrs Leisch was a seventh generation grand daughter of Capt. David James, who served with the Continental Army in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia during the Revolutionary War.
