Myrtle Beach, SC - Cherrie Elvington Atkinson died July 24th at the age of 89 in Myrtle Beach. She was born February 28, 1921 in Lake View, SC to William Watson and Lenora Elvington. Marion, SC was her home as a young wife and mother before she made a career in real estate in West Columbia, SC. Her generosity to her family, clients, and friends brought her admiration, love, and success. She built Cherrie Atkinson Realty on honesty and strong work ethics. Many called her "Aunt Cherrie" or "Miss Cherrie".

She is survived by her daughter Judith Porter of Atlanta, son Richard Atkinson of Myrtle Beach, sister Florence Howell of Charlotte, and 2 grandchildren, Karen Patton in The Woodlands, TX and Russell Atkinson in Madison, MS; as well as many close nieces and nephews.
