Obituary

Services for Lorine Nixon Timms, 84, Tyler, are scheduled for noon Saturday at True Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. E.E. Roberson officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mrs. Timms died Jan. 10, 2006, in a Tyler hospital.

She was born March 25, 1921, in Bullard and was a longtime resident of Tyler. She attended Stanton High School and retired as a sales clerk from J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of True Vine Baptist Church, where she served as deaconess and on the Usher Board. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe James Nixon and the Rev. Moses P. Timms; one sister; and four brothers.

Survivors include daughter, Lois Guthrie, Tyler; brother, Willie Jackson, Tyler; sister, Evada Jackson, Tyler; two grandchildren; and four great grand-children.

Pallbearers are deacons of True Vine Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Guthrie, Rickey Guthrie, Ronnie Brewster, John White, Ryan A. Guthrie, Rickey Guthrie, II and Robbie Guthrie, Jr.

Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
