Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Ovila and Evelina (Jacques) Rivet. He had been a longtime resident of Smithfield.
He was a Vietnam veteran and had served in the Air Force from 1962 -1966.
He was a 1958 graduate of St. Raphael Academy and a 1962 Providence College graduate. He had previously worked as a Textile dyeing Technologist before retiring. He had been Chairman of the RI Association of Textile Chemist and Colorist. He was an avid baseball fan, loved playing and had been a pitcher.
Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters Charlene Perreault and her husband Joel, of Smithfield and Lynne Perreault and her husband, Kevin of Lebanon, CT and a sister, Evelyn Rivet of Worcester.
His Funeral Saturday Aigist 21. 2010 from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Church, Georgiaville. Burial was private. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum, Georgiaville, RI 02917.
