Oshkosh (WI) Daily Northwestern, Mon. April 17, 1939, Page 11: "WOMAN DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF MONTHS

"Mrs. Anna Marten, 370 Wisconsin avenue, died Saturday afternoon at 5:35 o'clock at Mercy hospital where she had been since last December. She suffered a fractured hip in a fall at her home in December and had never recovered from her injuries.

"Mrs. Marten was born in Caledonia, June 12, 1870. She had lived in Oshkosh for 45 years. Her husband, Albert Marten, died in 1918.

"Survivors are three sons, Arno H. Marten, Oshkosh; Dr.E.A. Marten, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Franklin A. Marten, Chicago. Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Bellin, Neenah; (only one listed) and Mrs. Emil Bellin, Croff, N.D.; two sister, Mrs. Henry Lindeman, Paige,N.D.; and Mrs. August Kramer, Oshkosh; and seven grandchildren.

"Mrs. Marten was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

"Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Konrad funerral home and at 2 o'clock at Bethlehem Lutheran church with theRev. Paul W. Lueders as the officiating clergyman. Interment was at Riverside cemetery. The pallbearers were Richard Samuel, Lawrence Bellin, Fred Marten, Milton Fenske, Emil Kramer and Conrad Bellin. Selections were sung by Miss Lillian Lehnigk and Mrs. Norman Altman."
