Sallie P. Carter, 95, of "New Market Farm", Milford, died April 5, 1990. She is survived by eight children, Robert P. Carter of West Point, William D. Carter of Bowling Green, Herbert W. Carter of Milford, Elizabeth C. Portewig of Richmond, Clara L. Allison of Fredericksburg, Julian R. Carter of Bowling Green, John O. Carter of Bowling Green, Edwin B. Carter of Doswell; a brother, Otto L. Pitts of Fredericksburg; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Powell Funeral Home, Bowling Green on Saturday, April 7, at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green. The family will receive friends this evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bowling Green Rescue Squad, the Bowling Green Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
