Bradenton, FL — Cecile Barrow, 87, a resident of Bradenton, FL, and formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009.
She was a retiree of Western Electric of North Andover, MA. "Cece" was also a past member of the Sarasota Garden Club for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Barrow; sister, Doris Hurley of New Jersey; and nephews, Jim, Tom, and John Hurley.
Arrangements: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manatee Memorial Hospital Veterans Program, 206 Second St. East, Bradenton, FL 33508. A memorial Mass is planned for September 29, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Dr., Sarasota, FL.

Born to Thomas Leon Gaumond and Elsie Marie Michaud, Cecile was born with the legal name Elsie Marie Cecile Gaumond. She married William David Barrow on 15 May 1948 in Lawrence, Essex, Massachusetts, USA. They moved to Florida in the 1980s.
Following Cecile's death, Southeastern Guide Dogs named one of their puppies-in-training after her. This was sponsored by Plantation Grove Home Owners Association, the organization in charge of the community in which Cecile lived.

This marker was added to her husband's gravestone on 26 Jan 2016. Following her death in 2009, half of her ashes were buried in the church garden in Sarasota, FL, and the other half were scattered at sea by the Neptune Society.
