Mr. Sowell was born December 9, 1929 in Judsonia, AR and passed away May 1, 2011 at his residence. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church West Monroe. Mr. Sowell was an Iron Worker for Local 710 and belonged to Indian Creek Hunting Club.
Mr. Sowell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pearlie Sowell; son, Rick Sowell and a daughter, Vicki Turman; a son-in-law; Dale Turman; 2 granddaughters, Tiffany Turman and Brittany Sowell; one great-granddaughter, Skylar Turman; 2 sisters; Marybelle Greer and Sharon Chatham.
Pallbearers will be J.E. Lee, Jessie Lenard, Rudy Aikens, Randy Lenard, Earl Greer and Dale Turman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Banks and Noel Brown.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home
West Monroe.
