She was born July 2, 1924, in Ellisville, Ill., to John A. and Iona Mae (Sleet) Crouch. She married Roy D. Thompson in 1940. He preceded her in death. She later married Lewis C. Jones on March 30, 1973. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2008.
She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Ann Thompson, and one brother, Thomas J. Crouch.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Donna) Thompson of Mount Gary, W.Va., and Gary (Peggy) Thompson of Creve Coeur; three stepchildren, Larry (Joan) Jones of Marquette Heights, Judy (Ron) Bright of Marquette Heights and Diane (Tom) Meinders of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Norma) Crouch Jr. of Canton; one sister-in-law, Vivian Mellor of East Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
Jo worked at Fleming and Potter for 22 1/2 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle for more than 35 years and was a Golden Eagle since 1997. She also was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Pekin and Bartonville for 20 years, Teamsters Retirees Club, Fleming and Potter Retirees Club, and Three Lakes Sportsman's Club in Victoria.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
