Mrs. Ellie Kathryn Powell, 89, Orrtanna R1, widow of the late Fred Powell, died Saturday morning at 2:30 at the Fairfax County Hospital, Fairfax, Va. She had been in failing health for some time.
A native of Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Barbara (Baker) McDannell, and was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Buchanan Valley.
Surviving are six children; Clarence Deardorff, Fairfield R1; Mrs. Lloyd Speelman, Gettysburg R3; Clifford Powell, Orrtanna R1; Mrs. Earl Pike, Falls Church, Va.; Glenn Powell, Orrtanna R1, and Bernard Powell, Gettysburg R3; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister,

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning with the requiem Mass at 10:00 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Buchanan Valley, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Louis J Yeager, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
