Alverda Ruth Laughlin, daughter of William M. and Nellie Masker Laughlin. She was the second born of 10 children. Ruth, the name I knew her by, married Robert K. Hussey, son of John and Bertha Ethlyn Squire Hussey. Robert was a farmer in South Dakota. The couple had three children and sometime before 1941, they moved to Albuquerque, NM and I speculate Robert did farming in the surrounding area. Robert died in June 1942 of unknown circumstances. The Hussey family were friends with the O C Bolton family. I assume OC Bolton and Robert may have worked on the same farm(s) or did road construction together. The Hussey family lived in a house on Broadway, the street was built around the house. Ruth and her three children lived in this house three years after the death of her husband. In April of 1944, Ruth and OC Bolton (son of John and Sarah Bolton Bolton) married, combining their two households into one. This marriage was more for convienence, than one of love. OC (my grandfather) lost his wife, Leona Beecham in December of 1943. He needed someone who would take care of the household and his sons so he could go back to work and support his family. The couple remained together until Grandpa passed in July of 1971. Ruth is buried next to OC Bolton in Aztec NM.
