Obituary: (note spelling of her maiden name - should be Yearley not Yearly, and her mother's first name was Mary Ellen and her mother's maiden name was "May." )

Alice F. Farr 1911 ~ 2011 Born in Vancouver, B.C., on February 1, 1911, to Henry and May Yearly, Alice came from a family of ten siblings who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Virgil F. Farr, the love of her life; her two children, son, Harold S. Farr, and her daughter, Doreen M. Roach; and one great-grandson. Alice is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Waltina, who cared for her the last 20 years after the passing of Alice's husband, Virgil. Alice had become like a second mother to Waltina. She is also survived by her grandsons, Patrick Farr and wife, Silver and family, Paul Farr, and Kenneth Hainline and Dennis Roach; granddaughters, Jennifer Blackwood and husband, Scott and family, Mariann Burke and husband, Dennis and family, and Janie Mason and family; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Alice was fortunate enough to visit other parts of the world with her husband while he worked for various oil companies. She really enjoyed their travels and learning various languages that were a necessity to communicate in the countries where they lived. Alice had many hobbies; one she loved was knitting afghans, that were fabulous, and other hobbies too numerous to mention. Until her health deteriorated, she was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she participated in the Senior Sack program. She was also active in delivering Meals on Wheels to shut-ins. She got enormous enjoyment from her membership with the Kern County Duplicate Bridge Group. She always looked forward to the games; she loved the people and the competition. Lastly, Alice would tell you she had a long and wonderful life; but she had been around much too long, and it was time to go home. We love you, Grandma. You are so missed.
