One time mayor of Humboldt, Mr. Railsback was active in both the Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. He also took an active interest in the church and was superintendent of the Presbyterian Sunday School for sometime.
He was employed as an auditor by the Monarch Cement Company for a long time and until ill health caused his retirement.
Born in May of 1868 at Clermont, Indiana, he was the son of Jacob T. and Joan Pauline Railsback. He moved with his parents to Atchison, Kansas and on May 13, 1891, was married to Laura E. Mulligan in Atchison. For a few years he was employed as a traveling salesman for the Simm's Grocery Co. and Mr. and Mrs. Railsback established their first home in McCook, Nebraska.
They were the parents of five children, two daughters having died in infancy. In May, 1942, they celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary. Mrs. Railsback passed away about a year later. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Wise of the home, and two sons, Glenn Albert of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Dr. Stanley Railsback of California. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Allen H. Brown in charge and burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
