A native of Wisconsin, he lived in Florida for the last seven years. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He served as superintendent of schools in Wisconsin for nearly 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; sons, Bradley (Elizabeth) of Boiling Springs, Pa., and Daniel (Carrie) of Schofield, Wis.; daughters, Debra (Wayne) Spinks of Tallahassee, Fla., Katherine (John) Peterson of Newcomb, N.M., and Gretchen (Steve) Midboe of Dallas, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Illona Jaksha and her three children of the Minneapolis area; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Kirby Symes and their two children of River Falls, Wis.; and a nephew, Jay Hoyer, and family of Amery.
Interment will be at his hometown of Dallas, Wis.
