Theo M. Massie, 84, Chetek, Wis., died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake.
She was born Feb. 17, 1918, in the Town of Sioux Creek, Barron County, the daughter of Jeddie and Lillian (Stoltz) Rich. She married Robert (Mike) Massie on Sept. 11, 1935, at Dallas. They farmed east of Chetek until 1948 and south of Hillsdale until 1975. They lived in Chetek after retirement.
She was a 4-H leader with her husband for many years. She was proud of being a Barron County Homemaker Club member for 50 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Barron. She also belonged to the Monona Cheney Ladies Circle.
Surviving are sons, Leonard (Marianne) of Madison, Adrian (Anne) of Wadsworth, Ill., and Cecil (Debbie) of Bloomington, Minn.; a daughter, Barbara (Donald) Ely of Park Ridge, Ill.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Gomer (Dorothy) Massie of Dallas; and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Cowin and Hazel Lindblad, both of Mikana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Lois. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, from First United Methodist Church, Rev. Tom LaChapelle officiating, with burial at Dallas Cemetery, Town of Dallas.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to services at the church Thursday.
