Robert Greene was the son of Dr. W. B. and Maggie Virginia (Cullen) Greene. He was born May 26, 1872, in Nashville, Tennessee. Death occurred Saturday November 2, 1918. At the early age, his parents moved to Indiana. In 1889 they settled in Salem, Dent County, Missouri. At this time Robert was about 15 years old. He begins the occupation of a jeweler at the age of 16 years. And throughout the remaining years of his life followed that occupation.

On June 26, 1900, he was united in marriage to Dollie A. Larkin, the Rev. H. C. Cavender preforming the ceremony. To this union were born eight children, three sons and five daughters including Robert, Rowland, Maggie Hildred, Edith Marion, Charles Norman, Clarine Idelle, Dollie Lucille, Elenore Camille, and Lawrence Jeweler. Also, he leaves one brother, Dr. C. H. Greene of Springfield.
