Chauncey D. Hall, 83, of Zion, died on Monday, December 12, 2005 at his home in Zion. Born March 8, 1922, to Henry Horace Hall of Zion and E. June Robinson Hall of Blue Earth County, MN, he was the third of five children.

His father, a local butcher, died of tuberculosis at 32 when Chauncey was only five years old. Older sister, Evelyn also died of tuberculosis at the age of 18. Chauncey's older brother, Robert Lloyd Hall died in World War II, when his plane was shot down over France. Chauncey's younger sister, Betty married Earl Berrong of Winthrop Harbor, and sister, Shirley married Bob Pocklington of Los Angeles. He had been married to Shirley M. Wright for 58 years. Chauncey's father-in-law, Charles G. Wright had been the Captain of Police in Zion during Wilbur Glenn Voliva's administration.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry H. Hall; mother, E. June Robinson Hall; father-in-law, Charles G. Wright; and mother-in-law, Julia F. Hopkins; brother, Robert L. Hall; sister, Evelyn J. Hall; brothers-in-law, Wendell P. Wright and Robert Pocklington; and son, Dennis Hall.
