Dr. Mertel, a senior research chemist for Merck Pharmaceutical Company...is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Mertel of Springfield. The choir performed services and gave recitals in St. Paul's Cahedral, London, and the Cathedrals at Canterbury, Chichester, Salisbury, Gloucester, Ely, Lincoln and Petersborough. The group appeared in various parish churches and attended a state service in Westminster Abby in London.
