Adi was born to John and Lodema Gano Michael, in Madison Township, near Linden, in Montgomery County, Indiana. She was the youngest of five siblings.

She married Robert Alvy DeLong and they lived in Lincoln, Kansas for time, and eventually settled in Seattle, Washington. She died in Seattle on August 29, 1921. Following is a brief excerpt from her death notice.

"....died yesterday at her home...was a resident of Seattle 16 years...her death was due to a sudden heart attack..."
