Born 5 July 1929 he was the second of two sons to Paul & Hilda Ail of Portland, OR. He is survived by his brother Ronald Ail of Keizer, his four children: Richard Ail, Lorre Myers & Cyndi Ail of Portland, Aaron Ail of Salem, two step children Carl Bradbury of Salem & Brian Bradbury of Maricopa, AZ, seven grand children, two great grand children, & two ex-wife's Shanti Lona of Battle Ground WA, & Helen Stevenson of Maricopa AZ. Marlin dedicated his life to his family, friends & the fulfilling of his dreams. As a young man hockey & Aviation were his passion. In 1947 he enlisted in the United States Navy serving two tours of duty during the Korean War. In 1953 he returned home eager to pick-up civilian life. In 1954 while working for his father he met a young woman: Lona Setchfield, they married and started a family. After four children and 18 years they divorced. From 1956--1969 he was a deputy sheriff with Multnomah County. In the spring of 1973 Marlin met and then married Helen Bradbury a single mother of two. She and her boys, Marlin and his two youngest children started a loving family in Salem and after 14 years he again divorced. Then in spring of 1991 he met a young woman Mary-Jo Smith of Sacramento, Ca. and in the fall of 1992 they married. For ten years they followed their dreams, up or down thin or flush, all the while loving and caring for each other. Then suddenly in the spring of 2002, Mary Jo lost her battle with cancer. After her death he dedicating himself to his family, friends & business until this spring in his 81st year with his dreams complete, he made his final journey home. It's been inspiring to serve our father. May the Lord Bless him & comfort him shining his light upon him easing his pain & restoring his strength. Until we may once again stand together, we pledge to honor him. "God Bless" Marlin M. Ail :
