My mother Helen was born to parents Walter Carl Brand and Lydia Louise Fischer. She was a graduate of Taylor Alderdice High School and worked in the school office as a secretary until her marriage. She married James Kensey Clarkson March 15, 1941 and they had three daughters, Janet, Martha and Doris. She was active as a Girl Scout Leader, Our Savior Lutheran Church choir, PTA, and enjoyed bridge, crossword puzzles, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
