Betty Jane Rivers was the daughter of Howard Dickerson Rivers and Lillie Chastain. She was born in Dublin, Laurens Co., Ga. She had a brother, Jamie, who died as an infant in 1903. Betty grew up as an only child. She married Zenus Raffield in 1942. They adopted a baby in France while Zenus was stationed there. Their baby was blessed as he was the center of their world. Their life, as she told me, was a wonderful one. She is missed.
