OBITUARY :
MISS V. NAOMI HOOVER, a lifelong resident of Smithsburg and retired school teacher, died Saturday, May 29, at 1:20 a.m. at the Washington County Hospital, aged 83.

She was the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Hoover. She was well known throughout Washington County, having taught in a number of the public schools of the county. She was a member of the Smithsburg Trinity Lutheran Church, the Smithsburg Library Club, and other local organizations.

She was the sole survivor of her immediate family, and her nearest livng relatives are cousins in Washington County, nearby Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Bernard Jennings officiating, with interment in Smithsburg Cemetery.

The body may be viewed at the Minnich Funeral Home in Smithsburg until 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Services will be held in the Smithsburg Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. J. Edward Harms. Interment in Smithsburg Cemetery
