Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Elizabeth Acrey, 86, were held Thursday, August 13 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev.. D.L. Druien in charge. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery. Mrs. Acrey died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Roots Tuesday evening, August 11 [1942] near Hobson. She was a native of the county and was a long time member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Two daughters survive: Mrs. Charlie Roots and Mrs. Vergie Short, both of the county. Pallbearers were Leonard, Forrest & Floyd Short and Charley, Everett & Earl Roots. Flower bearers were Naomi Sinclair, Jesse Maupin, Ruth Short and Katie Roots.
