A beautiful woman, mother, step-mother and daughter passed away tragically with her husband, Taylor Pickett, M.D. and her sister-in-law, Jacqueline Nicole Ham on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in McComb, MS. She was a resident of Lufkin, TX and Summit, MS and was 22 years of age. She was born October 11, 1988 in Baton Rouge. She was a graduate of Sumner High School where she was in the gifted music program and was a Sumner Jewelette. She also attended Angelina Community College in Lufkin, TX. Laura touched the hearts of all who knew her and had many artistic talents besides her music. Her compassion and love will remain with all whom she touched. Taken from this world all too soon, we will join her in heaven some day. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Pickett; son, Smith King Pickett; step-daughters, Elizabeth Riley Pickett and Hannah Taylor Pickett; brother, Christopher Mitchell Ham; sisters, Jessica Danielle Campbell and Katherine Ann Foret and her husband, Benjamin; mother, Amy "Wendy" Morris; daddy, Mike Morris; father, David Ballard; step-brother, Jamie Morris; step-sister, Jenna Morris; grandparents, Louviena and Curley Ballard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Nelwyn Hendrickson; aunt, Argrea "Sue" Hendrickson; cousin, Eric Scott Sterling. Visitation at East Fork Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Memorial services for Jacqueline Ham will begin at 11 a.m with services for Laura Pickett immediately following. Services conducted by Bro. Michael Shumock & Bro. Robert Kusch. Interment East Fork Cemetery, Kentwood. Pallbearers will be Mark Kirby, Aaron Landry, Kaleb Lee, Brandon Foret, Duncan Harrison and Josh Yarborough. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Willis, Shane Sterling, Cody Sterling, Nancy Hallett, Robert Hallett and Eric Soileau.
