Alice D. Allgood was born on 16 July 1872, in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana, to Edmond and Mary (Adams) Allgood. She was the third of eight children born to Edmond and Mary and at the time of her birth Edmond was 27 years old and Mary was 25.


By the 1880 census Alice and her family were living in Union City, Montgomery County, Indiana.


Alice married Loranzo Washington Bryant on 22 May 1889 in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana. She was 16 years old at the time and Loranzo was 20 years old. For more information about Lorenzo, please check under his name. After their marriage Loranzo and Alice made their home in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.


Their first child, Lucil, was born 19 June 1890. Lucil lived just shy of two years. She passed away 10 June 1892. It is believed that Lucil is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Alice and Loranzo welcomed another child, John Delmar, on 14 May 1892. John Delmar only lived five months. He passed away on 26 October 1892.


Their third child, Paul Lorenzo Bryant, was born on 11 May 1894. He died on 15 January 1941. More information about Paul can be found under his name.


Alice passed away on 31 October 1896, at her home in Monroe County, Indiana. She died of Typhoid Fever. She is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana, in an unmarked grave. The cemetery has no record of her burial, but her obituary states that is where she is buried.

Mrs. Lorenzo Bryant


Mrs. Lorenzo Bryant died yesterday afternoon about one o'clock at her residence on West Fourth St. from the effects of a severe case of typhoid fever. Deceased was about 28 years of age and a member of the Baptist church. She leaves a husband and daughters to mourn her loss.

The funeral for Mrs. Lorenzo Bryant took place Sunday afternoon from the residence on West 4th street. Services were conducted by Rev. T.C. Probort and the remains were interred in Rose Hill Cemetery.
