Allen Huson Copeland was born March 8, 1903 and died February 26, 1958. He married Miss Margaret Hagood, daughter of Mary and Jasper L. Hagood, in 1926. Hugh Copeland was in business in Gwinnett County and then moved to Miami, Florida in l938 and remained there until 1951 when the family moved back to Lawrenceville, Georgia. Until he was forced to retire because of ill health, he was in business with his brother in Atlanta, Georgia. Hugh Copeland was a member of the Lawenceville Methodist Church. He died February 16, l958 and was survived by his wife, Margaret Hagood Copeland (d. 1968), son Allen Huson Copeland, Jr.(d. 1986) and wife Betsy Copeland, and his daughter Martha Copeland Hazlett and her husband, Bill Hazlett. He was also survived by his mother, Mrs. A. H. Copeland, grandchildren John Copeland, W.I Hazlett, Jr., and Martha Ann Hazlett, and his sisters Mrs. Q. C.Nicholson, Mrs. R. M. Smith, Mrs. C. Martin and brothers Haynie, Hunter, Herman, and Lamar Copeland. Hugh Copeland is buried on the Copeland-Juhan lot in Shadowlawn Cemetery. His wife, Margaret, and her aunt, Miss Bettie Juhan, and Margaret's brother, Frank Hagood are also buried on the lot.
