Dr. Littlejohn (Father)rode horseback, carried medicine and food in his saddle bag and served the sick and needy of that area for most of his lifetime. They lived at the edge of Evansville in a large two story house heated by four huge fireplaces built of native stones. Bishop Marvin (1877-1960) their youngest son, married Gertie Mae Briggs and Sarah T. Holeman from TX who had moved to Evansville in 1900. Bishop Marvin was born in the house his father built. He and his family lived with his mother after his father's death until 1910 when they, his mother and the Briggs family moved to Stilwell. having four children to educate and wanting a longer school term of nine months rather than a three or four month's term in Evansville, was another reason for their moving.
