HURST, MARY EDNA BURTON Mary Edna Burton Hurst of Sanford passed away on Sunday, Apr. 3, 2011, at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of the late John A. Burton, IV and Doris Burton Brumley. Mary was a graduate of Howey-in-the-Hills Academy and the University of Central Florida. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph E. Hurst, III. She is survived by two sons, John (Trapper) R.E. Hurst, IV and Benjamin (Ben)
Burton Hurst; stepfather William S. Brumley, Jr.; brother H. Arthur (Bud) Burton and his wife Sharon; nephews Scott and John Burton; and stepsister Carol B. Foster; also, aunts Sarah Parker and Audrey Pratt; uncle Bill Parker and; cousin Cecile Britt of Conway, SC, as well as other cousins; Mary is also survived by her dear friend since early childhood, Freddie Ganas, caregiver and friend Marcia Franta, as well as many other cherished friends.
