Holly Quick Memorial Garden
On September 14, 2006, Holly Quick, a 16 year old life loving young lady was brutally murdered in her apartment near the Sparks Marina Park. Her homicide shocked the community. Detectives worked around the clock for weeks and solved this heinous crime and arrested the suspect.
On May 2, 2009, the Holly Quick Memorial Garden was dedicated during Victims Rights Week. Holly's family handed out live butterflies to attendees to be released in her honor. Many people placed the butterflies on the flowers within the memorial. It is obvious how much Holly loved butterflies. The family also passed out Laffy Taffy, Holly's favorite candy. It was a very beautiful and touching ceremony
There were many City of Sparks' employees and elected officials who contributed in so many ways. Holly's family was very moved by the generosity of our City of Sparks family and the community.

On behalf of Detective Jason Woodard of the Sparks Police Department, the Crisis Call Center, Sparks City Employees Federal Credit Union, and the City of Sparks Departments thanks you for assisting with Holly's Memorial Garden.
