John Aardema, age 88, died April 1, 2011, at his home in Ogden, Utah. He was born on March 10, 1923 in Ogden, Utah to Johannas Aardema and Hendrikje De Wilde. Both parents were of Dutch decent. He graduated from Ogden High School and married Anna Mae Terry on November 21, 1942 in Preston, Idaho. She was the love of his life and still is. Mom passed away on February 11, 2003.

Dad was a proud Veteran who served and was wounded in WWII. He attended Weber College and the University of Utah. He was an accountant, office manager and purchasing agent before retirement.

Dad had said that he had a wonderful life full of happiness with his wife and children. We, John's four daughters feel we were blessed with great parents who dedicated their lives to their children and each other.

John is survived by the following daughters and their children; Diane Aardema, John and Jana Craghead; Carol Mann, Justin and Misty Mann; Beckie (George) Vega, Nickole (Dwayne) Hogan, Brady Vega, Laurie Kippen, and Davin Atencio. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Albertus, and sister, Phyllis Potts. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Helen, who died either before he was born or in his very early childhood.

Private graveside services were held on April 4, 2011.

Interment at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
