He is survived by his wife of seventy-three years, Natalie; children James and Donna and their spouses Ruth and Russell; granddaughter Jaime and her husband Greg and great grandson Gram; step-granddaughter Shannon and her husband Brain and children Jake and Paige.
Don was born February 8, 1915 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from La Grande High School in 1933 where he was a track star. He served in the United States Navy and was working at the Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
He retired from the Long Beach Naval Shipyard in 1971 after a successful career as an electrician and planner and estimator.
He will be buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, CA.
