Mrs. Sylvia Borst died at the St. Anthony hospital Thursday afternoon, October 25, at 12:30 o'clock from the effects of a broken hip, which she sustained Thursday, October 18. Mrs. Borst, who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wegner, fell to the floor on the morning of October 18 when she suddenly became dizzy. Her granddaugher, Irene Wegner, who was with her gave her immediate assistance. She was then taken to the hospital, where she suffered greatly until her death.
Mrs. Borst was born in Bavaria, Germany, August 15, 1842, and was married in her native land to John Borst. Their three children were all born in Germany and in the late seventies, Mr. and Mrs. Borst and their family came to America. For many years they lived in the vicinity of Dedham and were prosperous, energetic farmers. Twenty-two years ago they retired from active farm life and moved to Carroll. Four years ago Mr. Borst died, and one daughter died a number of years ago. The surviving children are Nick Borst of Randolph, Neb.; and Mrs. Mike Gutte of Dedham. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Borst was a kindly woman, who in spite of her advanced years was amibitious and anzxious to do her part in the world. She was an ardent member of the Catholic church and a member of the Rosary society of the Catholic church at Dedham.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Catholic church, Dedham and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at that place beside her husband.

Mrs. Borst was born August 15, 1842, at Wiesonfeld, Germany, and died at the St. Anthony hospial October 25, 1928, from the effects of a broken hip. Mrs. Borst was married in 1863 in Germany and came to America in 1882 when they settled on a farm in Carroll county. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Borst of which eight died in infancy. One daughter died in 1918. The surviving are Mrs. M. Gute of Dedham and Nick Borst of Randolph, Neb. Her husband preceded her in death in 1922. Mrs. Borst moved to Carroll in 1908 and lived there until 1920 when she came to Dedham and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. M. Gute. About a week before her death she visiting her grandchild, Miss Irene Wegner of Carroll, when she had the misforutne to fall and break her hip. During her life she was blessed with good health. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Joseph's church Monday morning at 8:30 and the remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband. Friends and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Walter Wegner and daughter, Ireene, Mrs. Tettenmaier, Mrs. J. Kerper and Mrs. Millenacker of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Borst of Randolph, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gute and son, Frank, and Mr. and Mrs. August Gute of Willey. The pallbearers were J.J. Klingseis, L. L. Zitzixperger; Ed Zitzisperger, M. Peter, W. B. Loeltz and John Wiskus.
