The rites of Christian burial for George J. Anthofer of Coon Rapids will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Annunciation Church in Coon Rapids.
Mr. Anthofer, 93, died Sunday, June 5, 1994, at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.
The Rev. Robert Fangman will officiate the funeral Mass.
Casket bearers will be Brian Anthofer, Jim Reiling, Dave Anthofer, Curtis Scott, Doug Anthofer and Charles Rasmussen.
Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery in Coon Rapids.
A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with a wake service followed by a rosary at 7:30 Tuesday at Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids.
Born Oct. 13, 1900, near Willey in Carroll County, he was a son of John and Magdalena (Wurzer) Anthofer. He attedned Willey schools.
On Feb. 15, 1926, he married Alice Skalla. The couple farmed in the Coon Rapids area. They moved to Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home in Coon Rapids in 1989. Mrs. Anthofer died there in the fall of 1989.
Mr. Anthofer was a member of Annunciation Parish in Coon Rapids.
Survivors include four sons, Joe J. Anthofer and his wife, Lois, of Breda, Ed Anthofer and his wife, Bonnie, of Coon Rapids, Albert Anthofer and his wife, LaVonne, of Carroll and Ronald Anthofer and his wife, Rita, of Coon Rapids; six daughters, Beradine Reiling and her husband, Ray, of Coon Rapids, Clara Anthofer of Carroll, Teresa Linscheid and her husband, Allan, of Mankato, Minn., Irene Scott and her husband, John, of Coon Rapids, Betty Hatton and her husband, George, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Joyce Schmidt and her husband, Ken of Juneau, Wis., 34 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Anthofer of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; six brothers, John, Michael, William, Henry, Bernard and Frank; a sister, Mary; a son, Leondard, in 1959; and a gret-grandson, Lucas.
