Son of George and Melvina Raymond of Partello, Michigan, Gordon (known as "Pete" about the community) Raymond became well known in the area. He married Nina Sheldon on October 5, 1898, and this marriage brought five children. He was a member of the Partello Band (of Calhoun County) along with his father-in-law Frank M. Sheldon. He passed away in his home on Washington Street in Olivet from a heart attack.
